So, I have decided that I'm a new advocate for climbing and everyone needs to try it at least once in their life. I.love.it.
Not to mention I'm looking forward to having arms like Daila Ojeda one day.
I've been amazed lately at the power of words and how they can build and destruct. Our words hold so much over us and have such a huge impact on our attitudes. How often we can speak things into being without being conscious of it - but how truly we can change so much by the things we choose to speak. I really feel one easy way to shape some of our words is when we speak of things to be thankful for. It's amazing how those words of thankfulness can really help lead to a heart and attitude of thankfulness. And what joy comes when we can find something to be thankful for every day. Maybe this is corny, however- neat to reflect on and look back at...BUT, I've started to write down 5 things a day that I'm thankful for and I find I am even more conscious and aware of looking for thankfulness throughout the day. I even feel like it affects my attitude because I get more excited about those things. Just try it and tell me I'm right ;) We truly have so much to be thankful for.
Happy Birthday Kristopher Lee :)
So, it was around 5:15 this morning that I began to think I was a little crazy for going running. Not only was I half asleep and could see my breath, but I ran past one of the largest moose I have ever seen. Apparently it happens all the time here. Love that. Alaska.
It really fascinates me teaching people to speak my language. The questions that arise and the looks I get from people when certain phrases or grammar just don't make any logical sense - they just are the way they are...it's just plain fun. The tricky part is explaining it in a way that makes sense to someone who has absolutely no context for whatever you're talking about. I swear it's one of the best jobs in the world.

Tonight was spent singing old campfire songs... There's truly something amazing about singing together.
